Experience Hacktober with AI Tools

We’re now in the middle of October (or Hacktober) and there’s a lot going on in the software and AI domains. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Hacktoberfest and if you’re a supporter of open source projects then now is the perfect time to contribute and win big prizes.

Meanwhile Florida is having its largest hackathon yet at the University of Florida (Oct. 16 to 20). Not only are students competing with AI and data science but they are also learning about AI workforce readiness to help them adapt to the future of work life.

October is also a start of the holiday season and with that today we look to cover more of the fun side of artificial intelligence.

Celebrating Halloween with AI Tools

AI Halloween Music Video

Debuted in May but appropriate for the season - Metal band Type O Negative unveiled an AI-generated music video for "Halloween In Heaven," a tribute to their late friend Dimebag Darrell. The video uniquely features various iconic musicians including John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, and Elvis. Corinne Larre of Twisted Hooves Studio, responsible for the video, combined two AI platforms for image generation and video transformation. The challenge, Larre noted, was incorporating these iconic figures authentically, requiring numerous iterations. While enthusiastic about AI's capabilities, Larre believes these creations aren't standalone artistic pieces but indicate future technological advancements.
